What we do

Everything your business owes, files and reports on.

One firm for the whole picture, so your bookkeeping, payroll and tax return are never telling three different stories.

Bookkeeping

Monthly reconciliation, clean categorization and financial statements you receive on time — plus cleanup of prior years if the file has drifted.

Tax preparation

Federal, state and local returns for corporations, partnerships, LLCs and individuals — filed accurately and on time, extensions included.

Tax planning

We look at the year while you can still change it: entity elections, owner compensation, depreciation timing and quarterly estimates.

Payroll & sales tax

Payroll runs, W-2s and 1099s, quarterly and annual filings, plus sales tax returns — set up once and monitored every cycle.

Business formation

Entity choice, incorporation, EIN, S-corp elections and the operating setup that keeps your first year from creating problems in your third.

IRS representation

Notices, audits, back taxes and payment plans handled directly with the IRS, so the letters stop landing on your desk.

The approach

Hands on isn't a slogan. It's the staffing model.

Most firms sell you a partner and hand you a portal. Here, the CPA who reviews your return is the one who knows why your March numbers looked strange — because he reconciled them.

    You get one accountant

The same person from onboarding through filing. No re-explaining your business to a new associate every January.

  • 02

    Answers within one business day

Call, email or text. Questions about a purchase, a hire or a notice get answered while the decision is still open.

  • 03

    Fees agreed before work starts

A flat monthly or per-engagement fee quoted upfront. You will never open an invoice you didn't expect.

How it works

Four steps from first call to filed.

STEP 01

Consultation

Thirty minutes on your business, your entity and what's currently going wrong. Free, and useful even if you don't hire us.

STEP 02

File review

We look at your last two returns and your current books, then send a written scope and a fixed fee.

STEP 03

Cleanup & setup

Accounts reconciled, chart of accounts rebuilt, payroll and sales tax calendars set. Usually two to three weeks.

STEP 04

Monthly rhythm

Statements on time, a planning call each quarter, and filings that go out early rather than at the deadline.

The firm

Built around one accountant who answers the phone.

ARMs Accounting Services was founded on a simple observation: the businesses that get into trouble with the IRS are rarely reckless. They're busy, and their accountant only speaks to them once a year.

Mohammad Jahangir, CPA, built the firm to work the other way. Clients get a direct line, a fixed fee, and an accountant who knows the business well enough to raise a problem before it becomes a filing.

From the office on West 10th Street, the firm serves owners nationwide — restaurants and retail, contractors and consultants, medical practices and real-estate holdings.

We came in three years behind on bookkeeping and one notice away from a real problem. It was sorted in a month, and we've filed early every year since.

The S-corp election alone paid for the year. What I value more is being able to call before I spend money, not after.

Our last accountant was a portal and an invoice. Here I email a question and get an actual answer from the CPA the same day.

Questions

The things owners ask first.

Often. Cleanup is one of the most common reasons clients come to us. We'll review what exists, tell you honestly how far behind you are, and quote the catch-up work as a fixed fee before starting.

Monthly bookkeeping and payroll are billed at a flat monthly rate based on transaction volume. Tax returns and one-off engagements are quoted per engagement. Both are agreed in writing before work begins.

Yes. Many clients keep their internal bookkeeper and use us for review, tax planning and filing. We'll set up the handoff so nothing is done twice.

Send it to us before you respond. Most notices have a deadline and a narrow correct answer. As a licensed CPA, Mohammad can represent you directly with the IRS.

Only if you want to. The West 10th Street office is open for meetings, and everything can also be handled by secure upload, phone and video for clients outside the city.

QuickBooks Online most often, plus Xero, Gusto, ADP and the major point-of-sale systems. If you're already set up somewhere, we'll work in your system rather than move you.
